William J. Moore, Attorney at Law, providing Legal services in Coffee County, Dale County, Geneva County and Pike County in Southeast Alabama

You will never know how many times I have heard DUI cases begin with "I pulled him over because his tag light was out," or "I pulled him over because his tail light was out," etc. Many stops that result in DUIs begin as innocently as being pulled over for a a light being out on a vehicle. So take in mind these tips as you travel.

1. Make sure you vehicle is in proper working order (especially your lights): These things can provide the one reason for the police to stop you even if you are driving properly in all other ways.

2. Comply with the Law while driving, but do not drive too cautiously: Stop at stop signs, signal with you change lanes, signal when you turn. All of the above are what is expected typically from any driver. But do not drive slowly in areas where it does not make any sense to drive that slow, or sudden braking.

Remember the best prevention for a DUI is not drinking and driving at all. Celebrate the holidays event free so you do not have to visit a DUI attorney.
