After a mobilized effort from the financial industry, the provision allowing for cramdowns of mortgages died in the House. H.R. 4173 had original included such a provision, but it is now out.

Also, recently, the United States Supreme Court recently reviewed a case from Florida (Powell v. Florida) reviewing the adequacy of Miranda warnings. The dispute stemmed from whether the warnings at arrest were adequate enough that the suspect understood that he has a right to an attorney during questioning. When the Court issues an opinion, I will analyze the case here.
